This Stainless Steel Connecting Rod is manufactured from AISI 304 or AISI 202 grade stainless steel bar, 12mm in diameter and 3 meters in length, engineered to withstand the demanding conditions of deep well hand pump operation. Unlike mild steel variants, stainless steel offers inherent corrosion and rust resistance without depending on a surface coating, making it ideal for regions with aggressive or corrosive groundwater, or where a longer maintenance-free service life is required. Both ends of the rod are precision threaded and joined using a hexagonal coupling, which locks successive rod sections together and prevents unscrewing during the reciprocating pumping stroke. The rod is used to connect the handle mechanism above ground to the piston and cylinder assembly submerged in the borewell, forming the critical mechanical link in the hand pump system. Suitable for India Mark II and India Mark III hand pumps and other standard deep well hand pump installations, this rod is a preferred choice where higher durability, hygiene, and corrosion resistance are priorities over standard galvanized rods.
